Inventory

I made this series of drawings in the summer of 2011 as my husband and I prepared to move from our first apartment, in California, to a furnished flat in Scotland for a few years. Most of the pieces of furniture were gifts. Some we sold to strangers, some we gave to friends, and some we stored for our eventual return to the States. Looking—really looking—at the possessions we were leaving behind helped me to let them go.
